Salesforce MFA Enforcement
What's Changing?
Salesforce is enforcing a new Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) method for all internal users of the system. Note that this does not impact community users such as the student/applicant portal. MFA requires a new authentication method, such as a physical security key (e.g., USB device) or an authentication app (e.g., Salesforce’s free authenticator), which can be used on a mobile device. Single Sign On (SSO) methods may meet the requirement as well, however be sure to engage Salesforce support to review this method for your scenario.

Please note if you are an Integration Rx client: enabling MFA will not impact the integration user provisioned in your Salesforce org; no action is needed for your integration to continue functioning correctly.
How does this impact my business?
Once enforced, all users of your Salesforce org will be prompted to use a new authentication method. A common method is the use of the free Salesforce Authenticator app that resides on a mobile device.
What do I need to prepare?
Your organization needs to make sure you determine the authentication method that fits your organization’s security requirements and procedures. We recommend, as a system admin, that you complete a pilot by following these steps with a user account, and testing prior to the enforcement.
Timeline
This new requirement will be enforced by Salesforce on February 1, 2022.
Finally, if Enrollment Rx has a user account with your organization and you are enforcing the use of Single Sign On only to meet this requirement, please open a support ticket with further details.
