Preparing a New or Refreshed Sandbox for Testing

After you create or refresh a sandbox, you will need to tweak the Events custom setting to make it reference the Sandbox’s domain, rather than the production org’s domain. Follow these steps:

  • Go to Setup > Sites and copy Your Salesforce site domain name like this:
  • Go to Setup > Custom Settings > Manage (next to "Events Rx") > Edit (next to "DEFAULTS") and paste the domain (preceded by “https://”) into the field called “Site base URL” like this:

Updates needed after Upgrade from Spring 2019 to Summer 2019

Assign New Permission Sets

With every release, we add new fields to Events Rs. In the past, we have required you to edit your users permissions after upgrading to each release. We are solving this problem once and for all by providing permission sets that contain all the permissions needed. Once you have assigned these permission sets future upgrades will require no work on your part to assign permissions, because we will update the permission sets with each release.

To assign the new permission set ERxEvent_Staff to your System Administrators and anyone else who needs to work with Campaigns and Visit Series in the Events Rx application:

  • Go to Setup > Users
  • Click on the name of a user who administers Events Rx
  • Click Permission Set Assignments at the top left:
  • Click Edit Assigments:
  • Move the Permission Set ERxEvent_Staff to the right column:
  • Click the Save button
  • Repeat for all Users who use Events Rx (i.e., work with Campaigns and Visit Series)

Next, assign the new permission set ERxEvent_SiteGuest to your Events Site Guest User:

  • Go to Setup > Sites
  • Click the name of your Events site
  • Click the button at the top of the Site page labeled Public Access Settings
  • Click Assigned Users
  • Click the name of the User (there should only be one user)
  • Click Permissions Set Assignments in the upper left (see screenshot above)
  • Click Edit Assignments (see screenshot above)
  • Move the two permission sets ERxEvents_SiteGuest and (if you have FormBuilder Rx installed) ERxFB_Sites to the right column:
  • Click Save

What to Test

Go to your Events Listing page and register for a Campaign and Visit.
