How to Configure a New Application Object

Configuring a new object to play the role of the Application in ERX Core requires that five fields be created on the new Application object and that lookup fields to the new object be created on the Contact and Status Tracking objects. Core does this automatically through the Admin Panel’s Application Object Configuration object.

To configure an object to play the role of the Application, follow these steps:

Step 1: Complete the 'Application Object Configuration' screen

On the Admin Panel, click the link at the top of the page called Application Object Configuration, which will open the Application Object Configuration page.

• Select your desired object. In the screenshot above, we select the EDA Application object (API name: hed__Application__c)
• Map any fields already on the object that can play the roles of the required fields. In the case of the EDA Application object, it already has a lookup to the Contact and an Admissions Status picklist, so these can be used to play these roles—we have selected them to do so in the screenshot, above.
