Updating Application Feedback Fields

Overview

This section demonstrates how to add a new field to an application feedback form. There may be scenarios wherean additional field is needed for collecting feedback—perhaps for one program, or for all.

Creating the Field on the Application Feedback Object

If the field hasn’t been created yet, follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate to the Application Feedback Object

Go to Setup > Object Manager > Application Feedback Object



Step 2: Create Your Field

Once on the Application Feedback object, create your desired field. In this example you're creating a new picklist called Top Candidate Attribute, but other field types can be created, including multi-select picklist, number, text, long text, rich text, and formula fields.

Step 4: Add the Field to the Desired Feedback Type

Application Feedback Types allow for you to dynamically show different sets of evaluation criteria based on attributes both of the Application record and of the reviewing User. The fields displayed in each record type of Feedback are contained in a field set which lives on the Application Feedback object. In this example, only the Graduate Programs want this question added; the Undergraduate program does not.

The first step in this scenario is to go to the Application Feedback Object > Click Field Sets > Select Desired Fieldset to update (in this case Graduate).



When on the fieldset, you can find the newly created field, and drag it onto the layout. Please note that the order here will determine the order seen by the application reviewer.



To make this a required field for the application reviewers, double click on the field and check required.



Once you have added your field, click Save at the top left of the page.

Step 5: Add to Additional Feedback Types (Repeat Step 4 choosing a different Field Set)

Repeat Step 4 if you have multiple Application Feedback Record Types and want to add this field to several of them, then edit the Fieldset having the same name as the Record Type. For example, in this instance you could choose the Undergraduate fieldset to add it to the Undergraduate Record Type.

Step 6: Add Instructive Text for Field

You have the ability to provide some instruction and additional information for your application reviewers related to the field you have added to their feedback forms. This is an optional step, but allows you to provide guidance on the type of information they should be entering into the field.

To do this, go to the Application Launcher in the non-setup menu, type ahead for Feedback Help Texts, and click on the value.



Once on the Object, click on the New button.



Once on the page, select the Feedback Record Type this field is referenced on, the new field, type in the instructive text and where you would like it to display. Click Save.



Testing

Step 7: Confirm and Test Your Change

Using a test record that is in a review queue that would reflect this update (in this case the Graduate Queue), review the change in the reader view and make adjustments in Steps 4-6 as needed. In this example, you might go back to Step 6, update the feedback text to hover or display below the field. Another example might be going back to Step 4, the field set, and making it a required field.
