Working with Manual and Scheduled Imports

Although imports can now be scheduled, the Manual import process still serves an important purpose. The Manual import should be used to test and verify mappings and their associated transformations and duplicate matching rules. This process allows the verification to be done whenever the user wishes, as opposed to waiting for the schedule to run. Additionally, the Manual process must be used in order to resolve duplicates. Because the scheduled import runs behind the scenes, there is no screen displayed to deal with duplicates. Therefore, the recommended process is to review the results of each scheduled run, which will note the number of duplicates. If duplicates are present, import the source manually to resolve them.
